Men 4 A Cause is a Charitable arm of the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce. Holding cornhole tournaments is one way that we raise funds to help individuals, families and groups in our community that need immediate help due to a crisis situation.

In an effort to provide an enjoyable experience for all players, M4C has elected to provide 2 tournaments this year. In the past, many recreational players have been disenfranchised due to competitive players eliminating recreational teams quickly. Please register for the tournament you are qualified for.

9/6/2019 THINGS HAVE CHANGED!

The original intention was to hold 2 double-elimination tournaments. One for competitive players and the other for recreational players.
However, due to certain circumstances, we will be holding one, 2-game round robin bracket. Then separate top tier and bottom tier elimination playoff brackets. The prize money (half of registration fees) being split 60% to the top tier and 40% to the bottom tier. First place winning 65% of the allotted bracket prize money and second 35%.
We apologize for the last-minute changes, but we think that this will make for a more enjoyable and fair experience for all.

Competitive tournament.

Teams will be chosen by a blind draw. Tournament will be double elimination.

Our goal is to payout of half of the entry fees with a minimum of $200 and a maximum of $500 total payout. Split will be 50% to first place, 30% to second, and 20% to 3rd. M4C reserves the right to cancel the competitive tournament if we do not receive a minimum of 16 player registrations (8 teams.) Registration for the competitive tournament will close midnight on Thursday September 5th. Cutoff is at 30 teams.

Recreational tournament.

Choose your own team member or M4C will pair you with another “single” recreational player. Tournament will be double elimination with am Also-Ran bracket for those teams that lose their first 2 games. (The also-ran bracket will be eliminated if less than 10 teams register for the recreational tournament.)

Our goal is to payout of 40% of the entry fees with a maximum of $400 total payout. Split will be 50% to first place, 30% to second, and 20% to 3rd. A donated gift card will be provided for the winner of the also-ran bracket. M4C reserves the right to cancel the recreational tournament if do not receive a minimum of 8 player registrations (4 teams.) Registration for the recreational tournament will be open until the tournament starts on Friday evening. Walk-in registration is permitted for recreational players only.

M4C reserves the right to disqualify teams/players that in our opinion are obviously competitive players. Refunds will not be issued if disqualified.

Definitions.

Recreational players are those that generally play in the backyard and enjoy the comradery and fun of the game. A “1 bagger” or “2 bagger” (see https://americancornholeleague.azurewebsites.net/playerrating rating.)

Competitive players are those that regularly play for the competitive element of the game in tournaments or for money.  A “3 bagger” or above. If a player is listed on ACL COB standings page they will be placed in the competitive tournament regardless of registration.

Rainout.

In the event of a rainout, the tournaments will be held at 5pm on Saturday, September 7th.

Refunds.

If both event days are rained out or tournaments are cancelled due to lack of interest, registrants will be given a choice of a refund or donating their registration fees to M4C to help those in crisis in the Greater Livingston County community.

M4C wishes to provide a fun time for all players.
